How do I use my own domain for my store?

On the Scale plan you can show your store at your own domain, such as florals.com or www.florals.com. You add the domain in Settings, add one record at the company where you bought it, and then ask HandForBrand to check the connection.

Steps#

1. Open Settings → Business Profile and find the Custom domain section.
2. Type your domain in the Custom domain box, for example florals.com or www.florals.com, and tap Save.
3. The app now shows a DNS table. At your domain provider, open the DNS settings and add a CNAME record with the name @ (or www) and the value custom.handforbrand.com. The copy button next to the value helps.
4. Wait for the change to take effect. The app notes that DNS changes can take up to 24 hours.
5. Come back to Settings → Business Profile → Custom domain and tap Verify connection.
6. When the check passes you will see Connected!, and the section changes to Custom domain active with your domain.

Good to know#

• Your yourname.handforbrand.com address is shown in the same section, with a copy button, and keeps working.
• To disconnect, tap Remove (or Remove domain while it is still being set up).
• Order emails can also be sent from your own domain. That is a separate section just below, called Email sending. It needs a domain that is already added.
• If your provider will not accept a CNAME on the bare domain, use the www version.

If something goes wrong#

If Verify connection says CNAME not found — check your DNS settings, the record is not visible yet or has a typo. Check the name and the value, wait a while, and try again.
